How to Prepare for Your Victorian Drive Test

Passing your drive test is much easier when you prepare early. Here is how we help learners get ready.

1. Set a goal date

Your instructor will set a goal date for your test and work towards it with you. A clear date keeps practice focused.

2. Do practice tests

Mock tests show you what the real test feels like. Your instructor will give feedback straight away so you can fix small problems early.

3. Practise the skills the examiner checks

  • Observation: mirrors, blind spots and hazards
  • Speed control and lane position
  • Parking, turns and roundabouts
  • Giving way correctly

4. Sort out your car

If you book your own test, you must bring a safe, suitable car that is registered and roadworthy. Check the booking confirmation document emailed to you from VicRoads. If you do not have a suitable car, we can arrange car hire, or you can book a lesson and test package.

5. Warm up before the test

A final lesson just before your test helps you settle your nerves and get last-minute tips. That is exactly what our drive test combo packages are for.
